Whooaaa. I'm not very good at this blogging thing. Here it is, October and I just noticed my last post was July. Whoops.
Anyways, Fall finally arrived and the 100 degree temps have gone away! We can actually get outside and do things! We had a busy weekend. Saturday was the annual "Booo-tanica" event at the Wichita Botanica.
This was a fun event but there were TONS of people there so it made it a little hard to just let Presley walk around by her self. I was afraid she'd get trampled.

This weekend we took Presley to the Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney, KS. It's just a 20 minute drive from Wichita. It reminded me of my 4-H days growing up. It was a really nice fair; clean and not too many sketchy carnival people! She LOVED the petting zoo. We couldn't get her away from the goats. As you'll see in the pictures, just just plopped right now in the middle of them and sat there and watched them eat.
Needless to say, after all the animal fun, we had a good bath! I can't wait to take her to another petting zoo.

This past weekend we took Presley swimming in a regular pool. We have a little baby pool she's been playing in occasionally but were excited to see what she would do in a big pool.
Needless to say, she LOVED it. She giggled the whole time and even put her head under the water all by herself. I'm pretty sure she thought she could swim all by herself and was squirming for us to let her go.
Luckily our neighbors have a pool so we just have to walk next door and take her which is nice. Also, they've switched over to salt water and I feel more comfortable about her being in that versus a pool full of chlorine.
What a whirlwind past couple of week's we have had! Mother's Day, Birthdays for my sisters and I and then last weekend my sister Erin got married.
Such a fun time. Congrats to her and my new brother-in-law Dave!! Right now they're soaking up some sun in Mexico, I'm a little jealous!

We took Presley's 1yr / Family pics a few weeks ago. I've been meaning to post a few but been way behind obviously!
I was comparing these to the pictures we took at 5 months and 9 months and can't believe how much she's grown!

Hope everyone had a great Easter! Ours was pretty good. We attended church with my family Sunday morning and then traveled down to Matt's Grandpa's farm in South Haven for Easter lunch.

Presley has really been working on her facial expressions lately. I snapped a few pictures when she was in her high chair the other day. She's really figured out how to "cheese" for the camera.
We took Presley to the park for the first time this past weekend. Temperatures reached almost 70 degrees and it was a perfect day to get fresh air. She LOVED the swings and we also took a few turns doing down the slide.
We'll definitely be going back the next time the weather allows. Hopefully she'll be up and walking soon so she can run around with all the other kids there.

That's how many months old my sweet little baby turned today. How is that possible!? I can't even comprehend the fact that this means in 4 short weeks she will be 1 year old. WOW. I told her she needs to stop growing up now but she's not listening.
Presley is more fun every day. I know I say that all the time but it really is true. Watching her learn new things and discover her world is so entertaining. She's standing up and jibber jabbering all the time. I can't wait to hear what her little voice sounds like. While I miss the days when she was itty bitty and I could swaddle her up and snuggle with her, I also love that she's becoming a little person with such a personalilty (a stubborn one at that!)
I'll post some pics soon.... life if a little hectic right now! Which reminds me... I better get to planning this 1st birthday party! Fun!!
A good night's sleep.
Those four words haven't been in our vocabulary (at least in the same sentence) in I don't know how long.... Well at least 10 months and probably longer because I didn't sleep all that great when I was pregnant!
Let's just say we weren't blessed with a child that likes to sleep. Presley is approaching 11 months old and she has YET to sleep through the night. Okay, well there were a couple of fluke nights that she almost made it though but those don't count!
At first, I attributed it to her being a newborn, we were warned about lack of sleep right? Then, we moved into teething so I thought it was that. Now, we're in this in between phase and the sleep habits have gotten worse. Although she maybe teething again. Our pediatrician assures us that it's okay if a child doesn't sleep through the night prior to 1 yr. My body is telling me it's NOT okay.
It's time for an intervention. Presley's bed time is getting later and later, she just wants to play, play play! Then she finally goes to sleep and wakes up every couple of hours all night long. Ugggg. We have spoiled her and rocked her or nursed her to sleep. This is probably a bad habit but it's hard not to snuggle her warm little body.
I'm not a fan of "crying it out" and neither is Matt. I don't know if I have the patience or the discipline to do it. But I'm afraid it might be our last resort. So wish us luck.... although we'll probably wait until the weekend just in case we're up alllll night long.
